1.) I
reviewed three exhibits before selecting the one I did to critique. The first project I reviewed was Brian
Purcell’s exhibit entitled AED 200. The second project I reviewed was All Black Everything by, Romane
Lewis. The final project I reviewed was The Visions through Faith by, Carl Desir.
2.) I
chose the exhibited I critiqued for several reasons. The main reason is because I felt it was the
best exhibit out of the three I reviewed.
The first project I reviewed only had seven pieces so I felt it would be
a lot more difficult to properly critique the exhibit. The second project I reviewed looked very interesting,
but I felt that the theme of faith in artwork was more interesting to me.
3.) The
main challenge I faced when writing my article was trying to not compare the
exhibit so much to mine. It is important
to understand that each exhibit is going to be different then mine in the way
it is formatted and described.
4.) I
felt a little reluctant to critique my peer’s work because we are both
students, but I hope they find my critique more as constructive criticism.
5.) I
would definitely enjoy reading the critique my peers wrote about my
exhibit. I feel like I can truly learn
from their opinion(s) and insight.
6.) I
would give my article an 8.5 to 9. I
think I gave an accurate critique and interpretation of his exhibit.
7.) I
did enjoy working on this project. I
liked to be able to look at my peers exhibit and give them my advice and
suggestions to improve their work.
